There’s no better predictor of success than feeling confident and comfortable, and being able to help those around you feel that way, too.  That allows everyone to concentrate on the important matter at hand, whether it’s a business deal, a new idea, a social event or the vast number of happenings in between.

And there’s nothing worse at those times than a stomach aflutter or mind distracted by uncertainties about how to put your best foot forward or be a gracious leader, host or hostess.  Different people call the skills and savvy to present your best self by different names, such as leadership poise, good manners and etiquette.

I think of these as success behaviors, and those who have them become adept at truly connecting with other people and gain an edge in charisma, too.  Consider:  If you think you’re leading and no one is following, then you’re only taking a walk.
